There were 66 Hispanic students enrolled in Penelope ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Penelope ISD schools welcomed 202 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 32.7% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Penelope ISD roughly covers schools within Hill County and has a main office in Penelope.

Penelope School was the only school in the district which enrolled Hispanic students, welcoming 66 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
