There were 17 white students enrolled in Malone ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 29.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Malone ISD schools welcomed 128 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 13.3% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Malone ISD roughly covers schools within Hill County and has a main office in Malone.

Malone Elementary School was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming 17 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
