CENTRAL TEXAS COLLEGE: CTC announces holiday break schedule

Announcemennttts

Central Texas College issued the following announcement.

The Central Texas College (CTC) central campus in Killeen and the service area campus sites in Marble Falls, Lampasas, Gatesville and Fredericksburg will be closed for the holidays December 21 – January 1. Administrative offices will re-open and registration and academic advisement will resume Monday, January 4. During the holiday break, students who have completed the admissions process can register for spring 2021 semester classes using CTC’s online WebAdvisor system.

The CTC Fort Hood campus will be open during the holiday period offering limited services December 21-23 and December 28-30 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The office will be closed December 24-25, 31 and January 1 and resume normal business hours and full services on January 4. Students can register until December 13 for the winter mini-term, December 14 through January 8, using the GoArmyEd portal and WebAdvisor. Spring 2021 semester registration at the Fort Hood campus will also be open until January 18 via the GoArmyEd portal and until January 22 on WebAdvisor.

Military students at other CTC worldwide locations should contact their site representative for holiday closures. For students not near a CTC site, CTC staff members will periodically monitor and respond to email messages and GoArmyEd Helpdesk cases. However, responses will not be immediate. To ensure students receive assistance, they are encouraged to open a GoArmyEd Helpdesk case. For hours/availability of CTC continental and worldwide sites, students can use the “Locations” link on the CTC website.

During the holiday break, students can still access CTC’s virtual library services during the week. The Ask a Librarian e-mail service, ReferenceRequest@ctcd.edu, is available and responses are typically sent within 24 hours of an inquiry. Research paper assistance and the library’s online databases will also be available throughout the break and can be accessed from the library website: http://www.ctcd.edu/academics/library/.

The Blackboard system will be unavailable December 21-26 as it undergoes scheduled routine maintenance. The maintenance week has been built into each course schedule and will not shorten the actual length of any course. Technical support for Blackboard and BioSig-ID will be available during the holiday break although response time could be slightly longer than usual. For assistance, select the “Contact Us” link under the Quick Links tab on the Distance Education and Educational Technology website https://online.ctcd.edu.

The Mayborn Science Theater will be closed December 21-28. Matinee shows will be held December 29-30 at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. both days. Saturday shows will resume January 9.
