KOPPERL ISD: Kopperl Summer Workout Guidelines

Exercise

Kopperl ISD issued the following announcement on June 3

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that beginning Monday, June 8, Kopperl ISD will begin UIL sanctioned summer workouts for incoming students grades 7-12. The workouts will take place Monday through Thursday from 10 am – 12 pm, and we would love to have each of you attend. Workouts will include strength and conditioning exercises as well as sport specific drills. Having missed a large portion of the spring due to COVID-19 safety precautions, the coaching staff feels this would be a wonderful way to begin returning to good physical condition, while at the same time practicing the following safety guidelines:

• Each student provided with cloth mask while at school (if you would like to bring your own mask, you are certainly welcome to do so)

• Temperature screening of each student and coach at the beginning of workouts

• Washing hands and using hand sanitizer often

• Sanitization of all equipment after each use

 • Each student provided with his/her own bottled water (no sharing)

3 more items to consider:

1. If you must have transportation to and from workouts in order to attend, please text Coach Wood (469-505-9669) and leave your name and a message that you need a ride. (Please text Coach Wood no later than 8:30 am the day you need the ride to ensure you get one.)

2. In order to comply with UIL rules, participants must be a 7-12th grade student who are/or will be attending Kopperl ISD for the 2020-2021 school year. Sorry, No Exceptions!

3. Students may feel free to bring their own gatorades and powerades if they wish

These are, of course, optional workouts. We would love to see every student athlete here and getting in shape, but there is certainly no penalty for failure to attend. Hope all of you have a wonderful summer!
