How many students were enrolled in Hill County schools during 2023-24 school year?

There were 22,330 students enrolled in Hill County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 13.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Hill County had the 46th largest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that white students made up 51.6% of the student body, the largest percentage in Hill County schools, followed by Hispanic students at 38.6%, Black students at 5.4%, Asian students at 0.4%, American Indian students at 0.2%, Pacific Islander students at 0.1% and multiracial students at 3.6%.

A recent study by WalletHub classified Texas as one of the least-educated states in the U.S., ranking it 41st out of 50 in educational quality and student outcomes.
