There were 3,823 African American students enrolled in Waco ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Waco ISD schools welcomed 13,824 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 27.7% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.
