There were 146 students enrolled in Hallsburg ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 9.9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.4% of them were girls, and 48.6% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 69.2% of the Hallsburg ISD total enrollment.

Hallsburg ISD roughly covers schools within McLennan County with its main office in Waco.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
