There were 323 students enrolled in Aquilla ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.7% of them were girls, and 48.3% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 86.1% of the Aquilla ISD total enrollment.

Aquilla ISD roughly covers schools within Hill County with its main office in Aquilla.

Among the two schools in Aquilla ISD, Aquilla School recorded the highest enrollment of 321 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
