Meridian ISD welcomed 357 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 357 students enrolled in Meridian ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 9.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.9% of them were boys, and 47.1% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 54.6% of the Meridian ISD total enrollment.

Meridian ISD roughly covers schools within Bosque County with its main office in Meridian.

Among the two schools in Meridian ISD, Meridian High School recorded the highest enrollment of 187 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
