WACO, TX – Today, Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17) released a statement following the jury's decision to return thirty-four guilty verdicts in the New York v. Trump case in Manhattan.

Congressman Sessions stated, "Today's jury decision in New York v. Trump is outrageous. The Federal Election Commission formally dropped its case on this same case over three years ago. Yet the Democrat lawfare apparatus in New York and D.C. doggedly pursues political retribution by twisting the law to meet its partisan ends."

He continued, "This weaponized trial is no different. It is election interference, plain and simple. When our justice system fails to provide equal treatment for every American, respect for the rule of law will continue to diminish."

Sessions concluded with his confidence in an appeal process: "President Trump will appeal this conviction, and given the manner in which this case was held, I am confident that appeal will be successful."
