There were 113 multiracial students enrolled in China Spring ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 20.2% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that China Spring ISD schools welcomed 2,958 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 3.8% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

China Spring ISD roughly covers schools within McLennan County and has a main office in China Spring.

Among the five schools in China Spring ISD schools, China Spring Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 33 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
