There were 628 students enrolled in Itasca ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 1.9% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 53.3% of them were boys, and 46.7% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 52.9% of the Itasca ISD total enrollment.

Itasca ISD roughly covers schools within Hill County with its main office in Itasca.

Among the three schools in Itasca ISD, Itasca Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 298 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
