Belton Independent School District issued the following announcement.
Starting Monday, Dec. 7, Belton ISD will update quarantine requirements for students and staff who have come in close contact with someone infected with COVID-19. These adjustments reflect changes recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and follow public health guidance from the Texas Education Agency. The changes are also supported by the Bell County Public Health District.
Individuals who have come in close contact must self-isolate and will be allowed to return to work/school 10 days after the last close contact if they remain asymptomatic. If they remain asymptomatic and also have a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken on or after the fifth day after the last close contact, they may return to work/school after 7 days.
Anyone returning under these conditions must continue to monitor for symptoms for 14 days after exposure and wear a face mask at all times.
