Moody ISD issued the following announcement.
On July 28, 2020 the State Attorney General issued an opinion stating that school closure decisions should be made locally by school district officials. Later that evening, Waco-Mclennan County Health District rescinded their public health order that prohibited in-person instruction until September 8, 2020.
As a result, Moody ISD will begin school as originally planned on August 18, 2020. We will follow our board approved 2020-2021 Instructional Calendar (on our website). Moody ISD will offer our parents 2 options: Traditional On-Campus Instruction or At-Home Remote Instruction. We have given each parent and guardian in our district the flexibility to choose the best instructional model for their child. Parents will be able to indicate this choice when you register your student during our upcoming registration period. All student activities, practices and events will be allowed to continue as originally scheduled.
We will follow all TEA and UIL safety guidelines and will trust our local health department to give us valuable data and recommendations. Please visit our website and review our 2020-2021 Moody ISD Strong Start Reopening Plan or you may contact your child's Campus for more information.
