Waco City Council voted April 21 to lift some restrictions that have affected the retail business due to COVID-19.
The council modified the mayor’s order, which was issued March 18, to give nonessential retail businesses the green-light to offer delivery or to-go services, according to the Waco Tribune-Herald.
Speaking to the Waco Tribune-Herald, Waco Mayor Kyle Deaver said the move is only to bring the city in line with the outlines Gov. Greg Abbott previously announced.
The Waco-McLennan County Public Health District reports that there are 88 active cases and that 2,488 people had been tested for the coronavirus as of April 28.
Waco and McLennan County are under a shelter-in-place order through April 30.
