Central Texas College issued the following announcement.
The Central Texas College Student and Employee Assistance Program and Substance Abuse Resource Center will hold a Keep Spring Safe event on Wednesday, February 26 to remind students of the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse and drinking and driving during spring break.
The event features activities and information tables from agencies such as the Texas Red Program which will present "Safe, Silent and Secure Driving," a DUI simulator hosted by the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service and an impaired driving goggles demonstration by campus police.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Cedar Crest Hospital and Residential Treatment Center and Starry counseling program will also provide valuable safety information to students.
Keep Spring Break Safe will be held in the Anderson Campus Center (Bldg. 156) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
