Enrollment Analysis: white students comprised 68.1% of Whitney ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,037 white students enrolled in Whitney ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Whitney ISD schools welcomed 1,522 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 68.1% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Whitney ISD roughly covers schools within Hill County and has a main office in Whitney.

Among the five schools in Whitney ISD schools, Whitney High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 296 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
