There were 1,503 students enrolled in Mcgregor ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.2% of them were boys, and 48.8% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Mcgregor ISD students was Hispanic, accounting for 46.4% of the student population.

Mcgregor ISD roughly covers schools within McLennan County with its main office in Mcgregor.

Among the five schools in Mcgregor ISD, McGregor Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 454 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
