WASHINGTON—Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-17), a senior member of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability and chairman of the Subcommittee on Government Operations and the Federal Workforce, will participate in an Oversight hearing scheduled for July 22. The hearing is entitled “Oversight of the U.S. Secret Service and the Attempted Assassination of President Donald J. Trump.”

The session aims to gather information from USSS Director Kimberly Cheatle following the assassination attempt on President Trump. The hearing will be open to the public and livestreamed online at https://oversight.house.gov/.

“I thank God that President Trump survived this abhorrent attempt on his life and join in mourning with those who were harmed and the family of Corey Compertore. I hope that, following this tragedy, we see a shift in political dialogue to fix, not fight. Secret Service Director Cheatle must appear before the House Oversight Committee to answer the many serious questions of the American people,” said Congressman Sessions.
