There were 1,478 students enrolled in Whitney ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.4% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.2% of them were boys, and 48.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 69.6% of the Whitney ISD total enrollment.

Whitney ISD roughly covers schools within Hill County with its main office in Whitney.

Among the five schools in Whitney ISD, Whitney High School recorded the highest enrollment of 425 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
