Cost of college went down for all students at Hill College

In-state tuition and fees fell 13.3 percent for 2018-19 at Hill College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas residents paid $2,982 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $687 more than the $2,295 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 13.4 percent more than residents this year, or $3,382. Their price tag grew 25.5 percent from $2,695 in 2017-18.

About 94 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Texas residents. And about 2 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 84 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 315 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.7 million and 103 students took out student loans totaling more than $465,635.

Including all undergraduates (4,447), 2,712 students used grants or scholarships totaling $6.8 million, and 651 students took out $3.5 million in federal student loans.
