The Center of Business Excellence launched a minority-owned small business lending program.

A collaboration with the Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce, the Cen-Tex Minority Business Equity Fund is the first locally funded financial lending program of its kind. The fund will provide financial assistance of up to $2,500 to minority owned small business owners during personal emergencies, natural disasters, or national pandemic events. It is intended to counteract layoffs or lost revenue.

The CBE started The Kick-Start Club to give the inaugural fund capital with a goal to raise $100,000 for small businesses by May 30.

The campaign welcomes any donor looking to invest in the success of minority-owned small businesses.

“Donations of $10,000 or more will received an exclusive gift in appreciation of their generosity,” a statement obtained by KXXV said.

All contributions are tax deductible.
