WACO – The Realtor community in Waco is supporting a colleague who was attacked by a dog during a house showing.
According to KXXV-TV, Shannon Gamble, a real estate agent in Waco, was attacked by a dog in December while she was showing a house on Hillcrest Drive to potential buyers. Gamble was attacked when she opened the garage door of the home and was charged by two dogs that proceeded to attack her.
Gamble’s left thigh, left forearm and face were mauled by the violent animals. In the wake of her attack, Gamble has experienced a great deal of stress, due to medical bills, taking time off of work to recover physically and emotionally from the attack.
The Waco Realtor community, however, has decided to support Gamble through her struggle by hosting a fundraiser. The money raised will be directed to Gamble’s financial challenges.
The fundraiser, which was held on March 2, featured a pizza buffet, provided by Bubba’s 33. Bubba’s 33 also donated 15% of all food sales to the fundraiser.
According to KXXV, the owner of the home that Gamble was showing offered their sincere apologies for the attack, saying that “As a dog owner, it is always our responsibility to take precaution and ensure everybody’s safety is not at risk, which is why my dogs were in a confined space only during the time of scheduled showings,” the individual said. “We take responsibly for our dogs' actions and are cooperating with everyone involved.”
