Pete Sessions, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 17th District, has shared several updates on his recent activities via social media. As a representative in Congress, Sessions replaced Bill Flores in 2021, continuing a dedicated career in public service that began after his graduation from Southwestern University in 1978 with a BS. He was born in Waco, Texas, in 1955 and continues to reside there.
On April 29, 2025, Sessions detailed his subcommittee’s ongoing review of the Department of Defense’s financial management issues. “Today, my subcommittee on @GOPoversight continued our review of the Department of Defense’s financial management challenges following seven failed audits. Ranking Member Mfume (@RepKweisiMfume) and I remain committed to bipartisan oversight that promotes fiscal responsibility and”, he wrote.
On the morning of April 30, 2025, Sessions expressed his appreciation for the Texas Farm Bureau in a statement highlighting his longstanding affiliation and support for the organization. He stated, “Great to speak to the @TexasFarmBureau this morning! As a proud 29-year member, I deeply appreciate the role the TFB plays in supporting our farmers and ranchers. I’m especially proud that TX-17 is home to the TFB headquarters, and I remain fully committed to championing Texas”.
Later that evening, Sessions noted his engagement with the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), reflecting on his personal connection to the cause as the father of a young man with Down syndrome. He shared, “Always a pleasure to have the @NDSS in my office! As the father of a young man with Down syndrome, I have seen firsthand the great work of this organization. I remain committed to legislation that supports Down syndrome Americans.”
