The Baylor women’s golf team, ranked 24th nationally, will participate in the 22nd ‘Mo’ Memorial tournament beginning Monday, Apr. 5 at The Traditions Club in Texas. The event marks the first of three consecutive tournaments for the Bears in their home state.

The ‘Mo’ Memorial features a competitive field of 15 teams, including four top-50 programs: host and third-ranked Texas A&M, No. 34 Kansas, and No. 35 Missouri. Other participating schools include Tulsa, Texas State, Louisiana-Monroe, UTSA, UNC-Charlotte, Abilene Christian University (ACU), Western Kentucky, Lipscomb University, Sam Houston State University, Northern Colorado and Toledo.

Baylor enters the tournament after achieving its ninth top-five finish this season by placing fourth at the PING ASU Invitational with a team score of seven-under-par 857. At that event—featuring a strong field—the Bears finished behind only second-ranked USC, No. 23 Arizona State and Cal State Fullerton while outperforming two top-20 teams: UCLA (No.14) and Northwestern (No.19).

Sophomore Malena Castro led Baylor with her sixth top-10 finish this year by tying for eighth place at four-under-par 212 after making birdie on her final hole. Senior Silje Ohma posted five birdies on the back nine to card a one-under-par round of 71 and tied for twelfth overall at three-under-par 213. Junior transfer Yurang Li finished tied for eighteenth at even par (216), while freshman Amelia Wan tied for thirty-first with a score of four-over-par (220).

Charlotte Brook returns to Baylor’s lineup after playing as an individual last week; she joins Ohma, Bridget Boczar, Li and Castro as part of the main squad for this tournament. Senior Mallory Matthews will compete individually in her fourth event this season—a personal best—and eleventh career appearance.

This tournament serves as Baylor’s final preparation before competing in the Big 12 Championships scheduled from April 23 to April 25 at Dallas Athletic Club. Additionally, Waco is set to host an NCAA Regional from May 11 through May 13 at Ridgewood Country Club.
