Baylor men’s tennis to face Texas Tech in Lubbock on April 9

Baylor men’s tennis will travel to Lubbock to play against No. 70 Texas Tech at the McLeod Tennis Center on April 9, according to an announcement on Apr. 8. The match is scheduled for Thursday at 5:00 p.m. Central Time.

The Bears, ranked No. 11 and holding a record of 19-7 overall and 5-1 in conference play, are coming off a successful home stretch where they won all five matches, including recent doubleheader victories over Midwestern State and BYU with identical scores of 4-0. Baylor is currently riding a seven-match win streak as it aims to maintain momentum through the remainder of the regular season.

In Big 12 standings, Baylor trails Arizona by one game and is tied with TCU for second place. Arizona has two matches left against No. 15 UCF and Texas Tech, while TCU will play Oklahoma State before facing Baylor later in the week.

Texas Tech enters the contest with a record of 12-10 overall and a strong home showing at 10-3 but recently lost at home to No.10 Arizona. The Red Raiders will look to their doubles team of Blake Hilsen and Eyal Shumilov, ranked No.76 nationally, as they host Baylor.
