Atascosa County schools enrolled 5,864 students who identified as economically disadvantaged in the state during the 2021-22 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of the 8,774 students enrolled in Atascosa County schools, 66.8% were considered economically disadvantaged. This is a 7.3% increase over the previous school year.

Atascosa County enrolled the 63rd highest number of students identified as economically disadvantaged among Texas counties.
